SUMMARY:Black Balloon Day
DESCRIPTION:Honor. Remember. Raise Awareness. 🖤 \nJoin Emily’s Hope in recognizing Black Balloon Day on March 6—a day to honor loved ones lost to substance use disorder and raise awareness about the overdose crisis. \nFentanyl and other synthetic opioids are involved in more than half of all overdose deaths\, yet 10% of U.S. adults experience substance use disorder in their lifetime\, with nearly 75% never receiving treatment. \nBlack Balloon Day is both a time for remembrance and a call to action. Together\, we can reduce stigma\, share stories\, and advocate for change. \nHow to participate:\n🖤 Place a black balloon outside your home or business\n🖤 Share a virtual black balloon on social media with the hashtag #BlackBalloonDay\n🖤 Take a moment to remember those lost and support those in recovery \nThe History of Black Balloon Day\nGreg Tremblay\, a 38-year-old father of four\, passed away from an overdose on March 6\, 2015. To honor and memorialize Greg\, his family created Black Balloon Day. While Black Balloon Day began as a small memorial and tribute to Greg\, it grew in popularity and has become an event observed nationally and internationally every year on March 6.

SUMMARY:Emily's 28th Birthday Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:As we approach Emily’s 28th birthday on March 23rd\, we remember her beautiful spirit and the incredible impact she continues to have through Emily’s Hope. In her honor\, we’re setting a goal to raise $2\,800 to support our new Youth Empowerment Clubs in Sioux Falls public and private high schools. \nDonate here ➡️ https://givebutter.com/Emily28 \nEmily’s Hope Youth Empowerment Clubs provide students with the knowledge\, resources\, and support they need to make healthy choices for a substance-free future. These clubs create a safe space for students to engage in meaningful conversations about prevention\, mental health\, and decision-making. \nFunds raised will help make these meetings more engaging by providing snacks 🍿\, refreshments 🥤\, and interactive activities 🎲 —ensuring students feel welcome\, motivated to participate\, and inspired to support one another. A positive\, fun environment encourages open discussions that can truly make a difference in their lives. \nWhy  $2\,800? Each dollar represents a year of the precious life we celebrate and honor – Emily’s life. It’s a tribute to her memory and a beacon of hope for many young individuals striving for recovery and leadership. \nBy investing in these young lives\, we are creating a future where students feel empowered to make choices that protect their health and well-being. Every gift\, big or small\, makes a difference. \nThank you for keeping Emily’s hope alive. 💜
